Hello, My name is Saathviga Vilvarajah, a 20 year old student aspiring to grow in the fashion industry. Currently studying a BA Honours in Fashion Marketing and Communications will allow me to achieve my goals to hopefully be in the Editorial and Journalism sector of the industry.

 

This stemmed from me always being a literature loving and coming from an artistic background. I thrive in all things creativity and I knew from the drawings and essays that I had placed on paper, that this was the industry I aspired to be in.

 

The degree I am undergoing has fallen perfectly as it has allowed me to do all different modules and has shined a light on my strengths and weaknesses and reassured that I am on the right path. Fortunate for me, the FRA have paved a strong path for me to enter the industry and I have gained a lot of experience from just being there via my internships and placements

 

I knew from many peers telling me that it wouldn’t be easy to just get my dream job and that’s where my drive of saying yes to everything. I've been able to see my work in magazines, assist celebrity stylists and just be content in the work I do. I know there are more skills aI need to work on, such as my copywriting skills, attention to detail and creative direction, but i am sure that with my internships and experience I can do that. 

 

It's clear that Fashion has had a big toll on my inspiration and has driven me to take on many goals this year, I plan to do my own test shoot and work alongside other collaborators so that we can grow together. I aspire to be master in all trades, and as much as I love to write, getting back into drawing and design is an aspiration and I hope to do that this coming year.
